Ijjatdar Gharan Diyan Kudiyan

Ijjatdar Gharan Diyan Kudiyan literally means “Girls from Respectable Families” is written by Brar Jessy and is a poetic/social critique of how “honor” (izzat) is understood and used in traditional Punjabi society — especially toward women. The book confronts double standards, gender roles, and the pressures placed on girls who are expected to uphold family honor even at the cost of their personal dreams and freedom.
